Personal:

I currently live at Eglin Air Force Base, Florida.  I have been married for the past 14 years to the most amazing person.  I have two boys and a girl, and enjoy spending time with them.  I grew up in Salt Lake City, Utah and joined the Air Force shortly after I got married.  I love serving this country and love being in the Air Force.  I enjoy playing golf and of course running.  My golf game has suffered due to my daily training for my upcoming 1/2 marathon.  I hope one day to return back to Utah so my brother and I can run a marathon together.

Well my first 1/2 marathon is in the books!!!!  If anyone is looking for a great marathon to run this is it (USAF Marathon in Dayton,Ohio).  The community support was outstanding and was very helpful.  The Air Force went all out and made sure everything was in order. The night before was a great pasta diner and some guest speakers.  On race day, the weather was in the low 60's to upper 50's, so it made for ideal runing conditions.  At every mile marker there was a hydration station, to include water, gatorade, gel packs, wet sponges, and fruit.  They also had port-a-potties through out the race too (luckily I didn't have to use one).   Througout the race different aircraft would do fly-by's to help motivate the runners.  The race started and stopped at the same point, which was at the world' largest air museum.  The day prior to the race, I walked around the museum and was amzed at all the different aircrafts they had there. As you crossed the finish line either a senior NCO or a senior officer was there to congadulate you and place your medal on you (I had a full bird Colnel place mine on me).  I plan on next year returning to do it again, but next year will be the full!!!!

Pretty good run.  It was a little hot and humid, but I managed.  I am looking forward to race day on Saturday.  I looked at the weather info for Dayton, Ohio (were the AF marathon is) and the weather is going to be nice and cool.  I can't wait for the race!!!!
